Recognising extraordinary achievements

Commitment is not for sure

The NOBELE ORDE van de PAPEGAY was founded in 1975 as the ‘European Institute of Merit’ in 1975. It is not bound to any political, philosophical or religious beliefs and is independent of associations or overarching institutions.
The Ordo Nobilis Papegayi is a society of individuals who share the common goal of promoting the spirit of chivalry . It unites people who spread the  spirit of community. https://ordonobilis.eu

In the earliest times, the Königschießen involved shooting at a carved wooden bird painted in bright colours – the papagei. The shooter who managed to shoot down this colourful bird was given the right to call himself KÖNIG (king) for the following year and to represent the brotherhood. In view of the high honour embodied by the king bird ‘papagei’, the order was named the Noble Order of the Papegay.

The aim of the Papegay Order is to honour and recognise those who, through their physical commitment or moral support, contribute to the maintenance and promotion of brotherhoods, shooting clubs, guilds or similar associations, or who have rendered outstanding services to the cultural or social activities of these associations, which are part of the cultural heritage.

The awarding of the Order therefore means that the merits of the recipient extend beyond their own brotherhood or regional association and are recognised and honoured nationally and internationally across all borders.
